The killing of Muammar Gaddafi: NATO uses UN-mandate

It is clear that the International Criminal Court is an instrument in the hands of the so called ‘coalition forces’.   The goal is to murder Gaddafi and to cover up the own war crimes (destruction of Libya, killing of Libyan civilians with the hope to demoralize the Libyan resistance, theft of Libyan money and petroleum,)…

23rd March 2011 – Yesterday a war of words erupted between the U.S. and Britain after the U.K. government claimed Muammar Gaddafi is a legitimate target for assassination.
U.K. government officials said killing the Libyan leader would be legal if it prevented civilian deaths as laid out in a U.N. resolution.
But U.S. defence secretary Robert Gates hit back at the suggestion, saying it would be ‘unwise’ to target the Libyan leader adding cryptically that the bombing campaign should stick to the ‘U.N. mandate’.

June 26, 2011 – Admiral Samuel Locklear, commander of the NATO Joint Operations Command in Naples, said on Sunday that the military alliance has recently stepped up attacks to kill Gaddafi, The Telegraph reported.

I am working for the Belgian human rights association 'Werkgroep Morkhoven' which revealed the Zandvoort childporn case (88.539 victims). The case was covered up by the authorities. During the past years I have been really shocked by the way the rich countries of the western empire want to rule the world. Killing of Gaddafi will be “regrettable precedent”

Accra, May 24, GNA – Former President Jerry John Rawlings says killing Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi will be a “regrettable precedent”.

A statement issued by his office in Accra on Tuesday said he was speaking on the current situation in Libya following persistent air strikes targeted at Gaddafi’s compound in Tripoli.

Former President Rawlings said: “Gaddafi’s initial threats and actions may have invited this kind of intervention on himself.

“He has, however, been punished enough and going any further or killing him and his family will be setting a regrettable precedent. Africa and the developing world stand to lose the most. Let us therefore not wait to live with a very regrettable situation.”

The former President expressed regret about the deaths of hundreds of innocent Libyans and combatants and said a way should be found to resolve the crises “rather than continue this violent pursuit”.

“Arbitrary killings and unfair trials of targeted personalities is not the simple key to conflict resolution in Africa and other parts of the world,” President Rawlings said.

The situation in Libya is currently high on the African Union’s agenda. Over the weekend, the joint consultative meeting of the AU Peace and Security Council and the UN Security Council opened in Addis Ababa with Libya high on the agenda.

The meeting will be followed by an extraordinary session of the Assembly of Heads of State also in Addis Ababa on May 25-26 to review the state of peace and security on the continent with the situation in Libya as the priority.

    Killing of Gaddafi’s Son Condemned

    Date: 1 May 2011
    Press Statement

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:
The killing of the youngest son of Muammar Gaddafi, Seif al-Arab, and the deaths of three young children belonging to the family in a Nato air strike in Tripoli is a barbarous act. The CPI(M) strongly condemns this criminal act.
The Nato forces are targeting Gaddafi and other leaders for assassination. This exposes the real intention of the military intervention which is to effect a “regime change” in Libya. Those responsible for this crime should be held accountable.
There should be an immediate halt to the military strikes by the Nato in Libya. India should demand an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to put an end to the military intervention and to initiate talks for a ceasefire and a political settlement.http://www.cpim.org/content/killing-gaddafis-son-condemned

21st March 2011 – Allied bombs reduced an administrative building inside Colonel Gaddafi’s Tripoli compound to rubble last night in a massive display of firepower.
The three-storey block is close to the dictator’s iconic tent and around 300 of the his supporters were believed to be in the area at the time although it was unclear if anyone was hurt.
Libya claims 64 civilians have so far been killed in bombing raids, which have prompted Russia and Arab leaders to express their reservations.
This morning Foreign Secretary William Hague downplayed comments made by Amr Moussa, Secretary General of the Arab League, yesterday in which he said the military operation went beyond what the league had supported.
Mr Hague told BBC Radio 4: ‘I think too much was made of Amr Moussa’s comments. I will be talking to him again today.’
